MeetCaptain Jake Futia

Fishing has always been a big part of Jake’s life, and for the past decade he’s spent countless days learning the waters of Lake Wylie. Today, as a full-time guide and USCG Master’s Captain, he enjoys sharing Lake Wylie and Lake Wateree with families, first-time anglers and experienced fishermen alike.

Whether you’re spending the day chasing catfish, filling the cooler with crappie or heading to Lake Wateree in search of striped bass, every trip is private and built around your group. Jake keeps things relaxed, works hard to put clients on fish and enjoys sharing what he knows about these lakes throughout the changing seasons.

Away from guiding, you’ll usually find Jake doing the same thing he does for a living—fishing. It’s something he genuinely enjoys, and that enthusiasm shows on every trip. From families introducing kids to the outdoors to friends looking for a day on the water together, his goal is simple: provide a safe, enjoyable experience and send everyone home with a great day to remember.
